Boy Bye

Boy Bye

Please don't tell me that you like me
Without even knowing who I am.
I've already been down this rocky road
So many times I can count on both hands.
You telling me how I'm unique, special, deep.
That I'm different, my flaws are, you know, cute.
When it's those same damn cute flaws,
That later will be the cause,
Of you giving me the boot.
Whoa boy, slow down,
You don't even know my struggle,
So don't go fluffing my pillows,
Getting comfortable.
Yeah I've seen that look in your eyes
Plenty of times,
Followed by plenty of lines and rhymes.
Reeling me in just like a gullible fish,
Ray J'ing me singing "If I had one wish, "
Making my heart flutter, skipping beats and shit.
It's cute, I'll give you that,
But I need something more.
Something infinite, something factual,
Something pure.
I'm tired of these fictional romances
Not based in truth.
That really you'll never actually see ME
That day when you say,
"Come here beautiful, let me holla at you."
I'll be too busy blushing, thinking,
I mean knowing I'm fine, to mind.
Won't even notice that you'll only see me
From my right side,
Which I call my 'right' side
Or better yet my good side,
Because my hair covers my eye,
Just right, making me look like Aaliyah.
But the rest of Akilah,
Hidden behind that better side
You won't even see that chilly autumn day.
By the time we reach May,
You'll have seen my other side,
Let's just call it my bad side because well
Hell it's my left side, where my face is fully Exposed.
I suppose, it'll catch you off guard.
And my twinkling eyes won't seem
So bright anymore.
And it'll seem strange
How you never noticed
These heavy bags I carry on my back
And under my eyes,
Before.
Everything that I'll think made our love so Pure, so refreshing,
Will just end up being another crazy life Lesson.
So please know that when I say "Boy bye,"
I'm not just a cold-hearted jerk, a bitch,
Stuck up or an asshole.
I just swear I know this road,
Oh so well.
And this here,
You should be grateful for this
Cautionary Tale.

IN THE SPOTLITE: LUKE JAMES

LUKE JAMES    Well, well, well I must say Luke James "I Want You" in my collection of great music. This man can sang, if you don't know you better ask somebody.   Representing New Orleans, this new found success has been a long time coming for Luke.  After a trio attempt didn't pan out, he landed the opportunity to sing backup for Tyrese, which led to a record deal for the duo 'Luke and Q'. But once again, that path was cut short. Yet, that didn't discourage him. He went on to assist in writing songs for artists such as Justin Beiber, Brittany Spears, Keri Hilson, and  Brandy.  Recently, he also appeared in Beyonce's video for "Run The World (Girls)". Now, the doors have opened again for him and this time he is going at it solo, which ultimately might be just what he needed. Luke James exudes sincerity, not only in his music but in his personality as well.  He doesn't want to just simply make songs that s...

If you'd like your work to be featured you can hit me up on Facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/key.saunders or e-mail sincerelyme27@live.com IF I STAND AT THE TOILET TO PISS... If I stand at the toilet to piss, Does that make me a man? If I sit, does it make me less than? If I dye my hair blonde, color my eyes blue, and rob my skin of its natural brown pigmentation Will that make me Caucasian? If I don't, am I then African? If I yell "Hallelujah!" while giving up half of my check, stomach still queasy from the club the night before, Will 'He' save me? If I, being unbaptized, die while saving another's life, Is it just 'to Hell' with me? If my skin is burned from a fire and barely hanging on  for dear life, Does that make me ugly? If not, then why doesn't anyone see me? Oh they do stare, but they don't SEE me. If my body is s...
